The big gestures are amazing, they're great and make you feel so special in the moment. The thing is, your relationship can't be big gestures all the time. At some moment, you'll be sitting on the couch, three hours deep into binge watching TV in a Sunday and you'll realize that the day to day isn't big gestures. They're great, but fall in love with the little things. Fall in love with the little moments, the day to day.
Fall in love with the way they take their coffee. Fall in love with how they sound when they sleep, yes even there's snoring. Fall in love with how they sound first thing in the morning or the way they answer their phone when you call. Fall in love with their messy morning hair or how they look when they're falling asleep on the couch.
Fall in love with how they talk to their parents or how they relate with their brother or sister. Fall in love with how they interact with a puppy or kitty. Fall in love with how they order food in a restaurant or how they grab your favorite drink from a bar. Fall in love with the times they are vulnerable and do something dumb. Fall in love with their sense of humor.
Fall in love with how they handle the hard times. Fall in love with how they respond after a tough day. Fall in love with how they rebound after falling. Fall in love with the moment they realize everything is going to be okay. Fall in love with how they laugh through the tears.
Fall in love with the times they remember a special day, but forgive them when they don't. Fall in love when they bring you flowers just because, but don't count on it to happen. Fall in love with how they make you feel. Fall in love with their goofy smile or their sense of style, or lack of style.
Fall in love with how they hug you. Fall in love with how they kiss your forehead or hold your hand. Fall in love with the dinners they love or they way they drive when you're tired. Fall in love with the look on their face when they tell you they love you.
Fall in love with their pure existence. Fall in love with the small things. They end up being the big things.
