With summer coming to a close, it’s a time to get excited and start thinking about transitioning to fall.
Here are the 7 trends you don’t want to miss:
1. Furs: Would
it really be Fall without this staple? This trend seems to reappear almost
every fall; but what’s different about this fall is that designers have
incorporated bright colors into this trend. Check out some fashion week
standouts from
Prada, Alexander Wang, and the below example from designer Mami 's collection.
2. Brights:
The weather outside might begin to cool down for us East- Coasters, but the
Fashion world is heating up. This fall, vibrant hues are back and have taken
the runways by storm.
Dior, Balenciaga, and Botega Veneta (pictured below) stood out at Paris
Fashion week through their incorporation of this trend.
3. The
Sweater Dress:
A thing of the past? Think again. They’re cozy, colorful, comfy, and back in
style for Fall with a modern twist. Standouts in the sweater arena included
Stella McCartney’s Earth- toned sweater dress (worn by icon model Cara
Devlevigne and pictured below), Suno, who combined the sweater dress trend with a classic summers
maxi dress shape, and Céline, who introduced a tunic sweater/ knit pant combination.
4. Edgy, Artsy Prints: Designers took prints to a new echelon this season. Dynamic, energetic, electronic-music and art inspired prints graced the runway. Proenza Schouler, Kenzo, and Chanel stood out with their vivid, electrifying color palettes and prints. This trend is perfect for those striving to find a different, stand- out trend to spice up a fall wardrobe.
5. Orange really is the new black: Orange popped up all over the fall runways, and much like blue, it has become a staple fall color. There are hues for every skin tone, from bold, vivid hues to subdued tones.
6. The Midiskirt: Not mini, not maxi… the perfect combination and transition piece for fall. Spice up the modest look by incorporating a bright color or print.
7. Retro: Who said that a little 60’s flare was out of style? This season, no one. Designers have created new life in this past decade. Dolly-bird dresses, zipped flats, and Chelsea boots are back- amp up your wardrobe with a little touch of the past.
