I think I can speak for most of the students at my school when I say that fall break is honestly one of my favorite parts of the year! It's a chance to unwind and catch a much-needed breath at the semester's halfway point. While some universities may not have a fall break, I believe that fall break is just as important as any other break.
As college students, we sometimes need a day or two to take a step back and relax.
Regular weekends are just too short to manage your social, academic, and spiritual wellbeing all at once. Not to mention, a lot of stress can build up at this point in the semester with midterms just around the corner. This makes fall break the perfect time for an extra-long weekend!
It's an opportunity for new adventures!
There's so much you can do with a little extra free time! In particular, fall break is as perfect of a time as any to spend outdoors. Planning a camping trip with friends or deciding to go take a road trip to visit a friend from high school are great ideas that fall break is perfect for! Adventure is out there and fall break is the perfect time!
If you don't travel home, campus is a great place to be!
If home is too far away to go back to for a long weekend, there's still plenty of stuff to do on campus! With nearly not as many people there, you get to do things like mattress surfing down the stairs of your dorm hall or blast music without worrying about bothering your roommate. It's also the chance to get to know people who you might've not gotten to know otherwise! It's a great time to connect with people who understand what it's like being far from home.
It's a chance to get caught up.
Not just caught up on homework, but sleep, too! Here's the chance to get back into the swing of the semester so you can ultimately finish strong. It's also a chance to get caught up with friends or family without the worries of schoolwork over your head!
I mean, it's a long weekend.
Who can argue with that? It's a win for everybody!
No matter what you decide to do, you can't go wrong with getting up to date with life's business and spending time with loved ones, whether it's friends or family. I hope everyone enjoys the food for the soul that is fall break!
