"Shake It Off" - Taylor Swift
I hated this song the first time I heard it, similar to every other Taylor Swift song I’ve ever heard. But like every other Taylor Swift song, it grew on me. I don’t care what anyone says, this is such a great feel-good song. I think I had all the lyrics memorized by the third time I listened to it.
"Chandelier" - Sia
To be honest I’ve been crazy about this song all summer, but listening to it in the fall is even better. Sia’s voice is incredibly powerful and it cracks in just the right places in the chorus. The relaxed verses and the gradual build-up in the bridge culminate into the type of chorus you just have to scream when singing along.
"Habits" - Tove Lo
This is my absolute favorite song right now. I’ve probably listened to it about 50 times within the past week and I’m still not sick of it. I especially love listening to this song while walking to class because it has such a solid rhythm. This one’s great to sing along to as well, and the remix is awesome.
"Sweater Weather" - The Neighbourhood
In addition to the fact that it actually is sweater weather, this is the kind of song that makes me picture a gloomy fall afternoon. Most of the song is pretty upbeat with a driving rhythm, but my favorite part is when the tempo slows down a bit for the last minute and a half to give the song a lullaby-like feeling.
"Out Of My League" - Fitz & The Tantrums
I love this song just because it’s so upbeat and makes the walk to class a lot less boring. It makes me want to walk with purpose. And the tune is light-hearted and happy, which automatically puts me in a great mood.
"Stubborn Love" - The Lumineers
If you’re looking for some classic hipster coffee shop music, The Lumineers are your people. This song is probably one of their more popular ones, but it’s still a great one. I find that I don’t walk nearly as fast when I listen to this song, because it’s pretty relaxing.
