Top 25 F. Scott Fitzgerald Quotes That Will Make you Fall In Love And Want To Cry All In One

F. Scott Fitzgerald: a writer who didn't have much success, but is known as one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. As an aspiring writer, Fitzgerald is someone who I greatly look up to.

Fitzgerald writes in a way that makes the reader both fall in love and be heartbroken all at once; how every writer knows they've created an amazing story.

There are 25 quotes from his collection of short stories and novels that will awaken and inspire the writer in all of us.

1. "You'll understand why storms are named after people."

2. "And in the end, we were all just humans.. drunk on the idea that love, only love, could heal our brokenness."

3. "Suddenly she realized that what she was regretting was not the lost past but the lost future, not what had been but what would never be."

4. "Their lips brushed like young wildflowers in the wind."

5. "We can't let such an inevitable thing as death stand in the way of enjoying life while we have it."

6. "I love her and that's the beginning and end of everything."

7. "Angry, and half in love with her, and tremendously sorry, I turned away."

8. "Breathing dreams like air."

9. "I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self-respect."

10. "I wanted to know you moved and breathed in the same world with me."

11. "You are mysterious. I love you. You're beautiful, intelligent, and virtuous, and that's the rarest known combination."

12. "You have a place in my heart that no one could ever have."

13. "Here's to alcohol, the rose colored glasses of life."

14. "There are all types of love in this world but never the same love twice."

15. "You know I'm old in some ways—in others—well, I'm just a little girl. I like sunshine and pretty things and cheerfulness—and I dread responsibilities."

16. "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall."

17. "You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known—and even that is an understatement."

18. "I wish I'd done everything on earth with you."

19. "I don't want to repeat my innocence. I want the pleasure of losing it again."

20. "I used to build dreams about you."

21. "She wanted to crawl into his pocket and be safe forever."

22. "You don't write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say."

23. "Hard to sit here and be close to you, and not kiss you."

24. "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

25. "I hope you live a life you're proud of. And if you find that you are not, I hope that you have the strength to start all over again."

My personal favorite.

F. Scott Fitzgerald has the incredible ability to make his readers want to get on their computer or grab a pencil and paper and write. His ability to make a reader fall in love and want to cry all in the same sentence reminds me of why I want to be a writer. Maybe after reading his quotes, you'll divulge into one of his amazing books and become a writer yourself.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
