Extroverts And Introverts: What College Can Do For You

The follows, likes, re-tweets and snaps aren't for the faint of heart. As an extrovert is expected to be, they live for the limelight, center of all attention and overall just a social butterfly! For the modern introvert (my category) they enjoy the occasional like or snap but not too much. We keep to ourselves or our main group of friends and are very content. Heading off to college, especially away from all your friends, can be very nerve racking and hard to get into the swing of it all, but with time it becomes easier. Just like high school, college goes by much faster. To make these next four to six years worth the speed, try getting active on campus! Make these years work for your benefit! Even though the beginning of this journey may seem long and lonely don't look at it that way! For all those introverts that may have a hard time with this just be yourself and open up. I'm not asking to drop all your walls but lower a few of them.

Whether you're an introvert or extrovert, get out of your dorm and make new friends and new connections! If you've figured out what it is that you are majoring in, learn who all is in that field of study. Grasp an understanding of who your teachers are and make sure they know your face, especially the dean of your department. Even though all of that sounds stressful, remember to find relaxing and stress-free ways to gain some enjoyment of college back, whether it be having a small get-together or "kickbacks," or just going for a night out on the town!

Most Americans are football fans, so who doesn't love a little college football and all that comes with it like pep rallies, band entertainment, friends and fans? With all of the games to work out and be a successful hit for the community, it requires the help and assistance of different organizations! Make sure to make your face known in your college community, whether it be joining an organization or different committees! Let your voice be heard and your presence known, and get out there and make a name for yourself. Attend seminars and events that organizations are hosting even if you aren't part of that organization.

It may seem like a lot of fun sitting at home and watching what's trending on Netflix and Hulu, or even social shopping, but make it work toward your benefit with good friends, great memories and new connections! Although this may come easy to an extrovert, to my fellow introverts all around the world: this will help you break out of that shell we find safety and comfort in! So much can be received out of both personalities, but ties you both into the main category once the real world hits: Networking.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
