Going into your freshman year of college you do not know what to expect socially and academically. When freshman first arrive on campus they will sometimes see banners and other advertisements that show what events are happening that week and what group is going to be hosting them. This also gives the students who go to these events the opportunity to learn about what organizations they want to be a part of. During the beginning of your freshman year it can be daunting to make new friends and to find someone that you have something in common with. From personal experience becoming a part of different organizations you have the ability to meet new people and if you are involved in a club or organization you may have something in common with other members.

Many students during their freshman year tend just stay in their dorm rooms and not go out and meet people at different events. Becoming involved with different groups or organizations on campus you will be able to find something you are interested. Joining clubs or organizations you are gaining skills that you have never known you have had and may even bring out some leadership skills as well. As a freshman you are ultimately the new guys on campus and do not know some of the traditions of the school. Being involved you will be able to get to know some of these traditions because some of the events that are held by the club or organization, You may find that some of the events that take place could have been around the school since the beginning or could be brand new but becoming a tradition.

Even though you are in college to get an education of something you are interested in you still need time to be able to relax and find something to get your mind off your work and assignments. Joining and on campus organization or club is a good way for some students to clear their mind from their school work and gives them a chance to be able to do something that will help other students on campus enjoy the year. Also when you join some organizations or clubs they sometimes want their students joining to be good academically and doing well in general.

Being involved on campus is something that all students should look into so they are not bored and sitting in there dorms all day. Being involved on campus lets students find things they would enjoy doing and to be a part of their college community. Finally doing this as a student you will be able to make new friends, and have new experiences you would of never of thought you would have.
