Stars are wondrous objects. They fuel energy and life throughout the cosmos like infinite little hearts pulsating bright light in vast oceans of darkness. In this night sky, we can find great constellations with the naked eye such as Draco, The Big Dipper, Orion, and countless others. The stars have guided civilizations, been wondered at for centuries and finally, their godly secrets are slowly being uncovered by mankind’s mortal hands. Each night, there are those that look up at the twinkling show above to let the humbling curiosity of the universe seep into the mind. Constantly expanding and changing, we call this universe our home. There is so much to learn above that scares our relatively small imaginations down on our homely rock. But exploration has become exciting. Diving into dangerous unknowns has become daringly exciting. Questions that most do not want to think about are being explored. Is there life on other worlds? Where does the deep dark of space take us? What secrets can we uncover? Questions that some are boldly willing to ask in the face of fear so they may go on to explore ideas that could uncover more discoveries of our place in the world. Space is an infinite place, filled with bright stars and mysteries that we wish to solve. It is the same here on Earth with people. Each person is a star, explored, but not by everyone.
Every contact with a person is an opportunity to explore, opening the possibility to discover beauty in differences or commonalities. Of course, some stars could be dangerous. Some can explode and develop into a black hole. But wouldn’t it be wonderful to carefully take a chance and meet the star? The human race is forgetting that the exploration of people and places is something of majesty. Differences have driven groups apart, into their own separate, far off galaxies of people, constantly keeping their distance from others. But now, we have the knowledge to reach out into the far depths that we cannot yet see with our own eyes. Here on Earth, it is the same. Technology lets us connect all over the world. It is a key to the globalization of different societies and cultures so that we may continue one of the most important practices of human history, educating ourselves through the knowledge of others. Reaching to other people for connectedness through differences is as bold and thrilling as searching the mysteries of the night sky.
