My fingers wiped the tears that streamed my face. The moon put a spotlight on me as I sat alone in my bed.
The voices of my haters began to swirl in my head. "You're a worthless piece of junk," one of my haters said as she bruised my face with her fist. The pain that came with my bruise hurt more than my bruise.
My heart was broken. How could God love yet let me go through this?
I decided to take a walk in the moonlight.
I wanted to be done with everything because I couldn't take the pain anymore. I wanted to tell my mom, but I don't know how she would take the thought of her daughter trying to get rid of herself.
My footsteps reminded me of the beatings I would take continually for my faith, and to think it all started with sharing my faith in class. My haters began to call me names and humiliate me in front of the school.
I thought God would be with me in this trial like He promised, but I feel so alone like He abandoned me. I want to believe that He is with me, but the pain is just so heavy that I'm losing hope.
I wanted to stop living. If God wasn't going to help me through this, then what's the point? I thought God loved me, but this pain isn't worth living with. I sat on a bench watching the beauty of the fireflies light up a pond. I guess God cares more about his creation than He does His daughter.
"I will never leave you nor forsake you," a small whisper spoke.
"Then why do I feel ALONE," I yelled!
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
I suddenly felt the burden taken off my heart. I felt peace and joy. It was then that I understood that I was never alone. God never abandoned me--He was right there walking beside.
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
It was then that I experienced God's love.
