We all know those people who are way too excited about everything and want everyone to know it—you might even be this person or have one in your friend group. But while we might take these people for granted sometimes or think they can be a little bit annoying because of their energy level, here's a couple reasons why you should never forget how much we actually love people who are always enthusiastic about everything!
1. Their glass is always half-full.
There will always be times in our life where things may not go according to plan, but with these particular friends by our side, your night can turn into a story or a memory that you'll never forget. An example I have is when I went to Akron with one of my best friends for a night on the town during the summer. We went there because one of my friends was having a going-away party, and I brought him because I didn't want to go alone or get mugged walking around by myself. Luckily for me, my friend is always down for anything, so after we made an appearance at my friend's party, we walked around the bar scene by UA and ended up at Thursdays. It was the weirdest crowd I had ever seen at a bar. They were playing this weird techno music and had all these lasers lights going off, but my friend and I danced like there was no one else in the room, except for when he had to pretend to be my boyfriend to get rid of the weirdos. But if he wasn't that kind of personality that is down for anything and isn't afraid to try new things, then we never would've gone there and have the stories that we do.
2. They're your personal cheerleader for pretty much everything.
In 2013, I was Vice President of Foundation for my sorority, which meant that I took care of all of our service hours and events that went on for my chapter. In the spring semester, I decided to try something new for our sorority and philanthropy and host an event that we've never done before. It was exhausting work trying to make sure you hadn't missed anything or overlooked some aspect of your event, but for a first-time event, it was pretty successful and drew a pretty large crowd! I invited some of my friends to come (along with my family, of course), and they came and watched a couple hours of it! The people I invited didn't have to come—they didn't have to take the time out of their day to spend a couple of hours at a freezing ice skating rink and watch teams fall on their asses every five seconds, but they did. They supported me in ways they probably don't even realize, and I'm just happy I've found people in my life that will go out of their way for me to be my personal cheerleader, like I am theirs.
Being excited about everything is probably one of the best traits you can have. Not only do you make people's lives more positive, but you show them a perspective they might not have thought about thanks to your amazing outlook on life. So friends, if you have a person who is exactly as I've described, take a minute to thank them this holiday season for putting up with you for as long as they have. Because just think how boring your life would be without them!
