I have come to notice, and have noticed over a long time, that society has reached a sad point of development. It is more than natural for humans to want success for themselves. They are instinctively defensive about who they are and claim what they deserve. We all appear to root for everyone. We desire for people to become their best selves, right? Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
You see, people wish for others to strive just as they do, in order to achieve their dreams. Once it’s achieved, that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone will be happy for that person. Now, this is in no relation to myself. This is applicable to everyone.
I’m more than happy when someone is growing, but I notice that this is not the case for everyone. Now, I’m just generalizing here. Of course, there are amazing individuals in the world that wish for their own happiness, as well as that of others. That is exactly what we need more of.
If you’re unfamiliar with the “evil eye,” it is a type of gaze that projects a sort of evil and bad luck to transfer to the person it is directed at. Of course, this is not literal, but in a few moments, you will understand what I’m trying to say.
Have you noticed that when someone is finally happy, and others that are not so fortunate seem to glare at their spotlight? Or how people start talking and can become double-faced! They go up to that person and discuss how happy they are for them, but the minute they turn away, there is an eye roll. The next thing you know, everyone is talking about it in a negative light.
When people talk down to you or are amazed at your achievements with excessive awe, it may suggest a potential evil eye. This is possibly why so many people have become self-centered. There is too much concern about the competition in life and less on the value of happiness. That small glare can lead to a small evil gratification of someone’s immediate downfall if that were to occur.
Now, why should people feel secretly happy, at a show of failure? I’ll tell you why. It’s because they are green with envy of success when one is trying to climb the ladder. They believe people change once they triumph, but that is truly not the case!
So do me a favor. Congratulate your friends and anyone else that you know, at their achievements with genuine wishes. Be there if they fall with genuine intentions. And overall, just be a genuine person.
