Everyone can agree that the key to living a creative life is having a constant flow of inspiration and a mind wide open to receive new ideas. Although many can agree, creative lulls happen to the most prominent artists.
After going through one myself, I found that accepting inspiration and new ideas is the key to being more inspired and creative. For the past year, I have been almost silent when it comes to my creative voice. I stopped writing for a period of time, stopped playing music, stopped feeling inspired; but after going to a Coldplay concert, I was able to feel more open to the world and to my creative mind.
Even though Coldplay is my favorite band and usually inspires me anyway, the concert gave me a deeper experience that really inspired me to love more and to stop worrying.
You could even tell by the band members that they loved each other and that they were doing something they loved. It’s quite rare to come across a band that jokes around with each other during a performance and shows their true relationship. Maybe because they’ve been around for a longer amount of time, or maybe they are just super close, but it didn’t seem like a job to them, which is also really inspiring.
At the concert, they promoted peace, love and togetherness, which was truly enlightening considering the state of the world right now. The singer of the band, Chris Martin, even took the time to sing a song and dedicate it to the world and asked everyone in the audience to send love to those who need it most.
As he sang the song “Everglow,” you could feel the overwhelming energy radiating from the crowd; the energy of excitement, love, power and support. And while the concert itself was well produced and very enjoyable, I find that this moment was the best moment because it was the crowd was “one.”
Coldplay even made it a point to give everyone wristbands that were synced to the lights on the stage and lit up altogether. The opening statement even said that we were one and the wristbands represent that we were together in this very moment.
In my opinion, though I may be biased, a Coldplay concert is what the entire world needs right now.
Mainly because we need love and we need acceptance. We, as a whole, need to find what inspires us to love in order to find peace with each other. We all need to accept the differences and the hardships in order to actually live life peacefully. We need to remember that, in reality, we as humans are better together working and loving than we are hating and killing.
Humanity is powerful and love is powerful. If we really accept each other and love each other, there is truly nothing we can’t do.
The Coldplay concert is filled with colors and lights that really power the creative aspect of life, but the message that they deliver between the performances is more powerful than I could have ever imagined.
