Dear Best Friend:
I feel like I have known you my whole life since you are family. I have gone through a lot of friends over the years, but you never left my side and always gave me guidance to fight to get what I wanted. But that isn't the only reason why I consider you my best friend.
Being one thousand miles away from you is hard because I remember when I could just drive a few minutes to see you. I truly miss that, but life happens and hopefully we can have those days back in a different place later in our lives. That distance doesn't affect our friendship in a negative way; the distance made us closer. I used to always text you, but now I pick up the phone and call you since a conversation over the phone; even if it is five minutes means a lot more to me than any old text message. I look forward to our talks during the times that our schedules allow us to do so. Plus, our phone calls have always been at the most random times ever. I feel like we are doctors on call when we call each other at midnight needing help. I love that we can be there for each other even if the other one is half asleep.
Thank you for not changing and just being honest with me even when I didn't want to hear the truth, because it felt like a nail was jabbing my heart. I have seen that quality only get stronger over the years, and I look forward to seeing what you become over the next ten years.
I see many adventures in store for us in the future. It may not seem like that now, but our time will come where we can go around the world and create memories that you just can't put a price tag on. You are my best friend for that reason. I know that no matter where we go I know that we will always enjoy the adventures even if one of us weren't so open to the idea at first.
So, best friend, to conclude: keep being yourself and remember that you are always the person I will go to when I want to have a good time, a rant, or just talk about life with. Keep being family - don't leave.
Sincerely;
Your Best Friend
