Dear class of 2020,
First of all, congratulations! You should be absolutely proud of yourself. You have now been accepted to the finest university in the Southland. Your time at the University of Georgia will be some of the best times of your life.
Of course, college can be a terrifying time. This is especially the case on a campus with over 35,000 students! Living on a campus is a completely different experience. New friends, new food, new class schedule... it almost feels like impossible to get everything together!
Luckily, there is a fantastic program at UGA to help with all of that. It's called Dawg Camp, and it is most definitely #tptb (the place to be)!
Dawg Camp is an extended orientation program specifically designed for incoming freshman at the University of Georgia. It is meant to be a springboard for freshman to be successful both on and off campus!
Dawg Camp will give you the resources you need to find your place on campus. You are able to meet and connect with other incoming freshman, all while having wonderful staff to bond with.
During your experience, you will be able to have all of your questions answered about what life will be like at UGA. Dawg Camp is meant to be a support system for you during your entire freshman year.
Dawg Camp have four different focuses: service, adventure, leadership, and Athens culture.
Dawg Camp Classic City is the camp for you if you love service and social justice. Classic City is a five day program where you do various service-learning projects around Athens. Throughout this experience, you will gain an incredibly unique perspective on what it means to live in the Classic City!
Dawg Camp Adventure is for those who live for the outdoors. Through this program, you will be able to go up to North Carolina for a trip you'll never forget. Hiking and kayaking with other new bulldogs will be an incredible way to start out your freshman year!
Love culture and art? Dawg Camp Fusion is the place for you! Throughout this program, you will gain a wonderful perspective on the cultural scene in Athens. This camp includes everything from eating at local restaurants and exploring the local art scene!
Do you just love the University of Georgia? Dawg Camp Discovery is where you should be come this July. This program focuses on leadership, traditions at UGA, and school spirit. There is even a huge shaving cream fight! By far the largest camp, you will be able to connect with many other baby bulldogs all while having a spectacular camp experience!
Dawg Camp is truly the place to be this summer. Dawg Camp will give you everything that you need to thrive during your freshman year at UGA. This can be your very first tradition at UGA!
