Not saying I am an expert at college, because who really is? But I have going on four years under my belt, so I've learned a thing or two. If you feel like you need guidance on what to do to be a successful college student, just follow these simple instructions. (Bruno Mars. Get it?)
1. ALWAYS have coffee on standby.
Doesn't matter the time of day.
2. Know the bus schedule and possibly have a backup mode of transportation if you live off campus.
I am slowly learning this.
3. Pack a lunch!
Mainly if you are living off campus.
4. Know how late the library stays open for those late-night study sessions!
I've spent my fair share of late nights in the library. This is when the coffee comes in handy (see #1).
5.Get involved in something you are passionate about!
Seriously! Hiking club, a newspaper, or even Harry Potter club!
6. Don't wait the entire weekend to get all your homework done.
We all do it.
7. ALWAYS bring your phone and laptop charger with you.
I seem to always forget.
8. Have a planner AND use it!
This will save your life.
9. Wait until the first day of classes to buy your textbooks.
There are always those classes where you won't need the text.
10. Know the fastest routes to across campus.
It only took me an entire year to figure this one out.
11. Don't wait until your senior year to meet with an advisor.
Seriously, that's just not god.
12. Consult Rate My Professor like it's your job.
This site has saved my butt on more than one occasion.
13. Make friends with someone who has a dog.
To keep you sane.
14. Go to your school's sporting events.
They are fun, and the team deserves some support!
15.Take advantage of student discounts!
I'm all over this!
16. Send your friends and family letters.
Everybody deserves a nice letter.
17. Don't be the group member that doesn't do anything in a group project.
No one likes those people.
18. Get a passport.
You'll never know when it can come in handy!
19. Know someone who lives near your hometown.
So you can have carpool for the holidays!
20. ALWAYS carry headphones on you.
You'll never know when you'll need them.
