As college students, we have a lot to be thankful for. So, in honor of Thanksgiving week, here are just a few things we should never take for granted.
1. Free food.
No college student can resist a sign for free Chipotle and why would you want to? No matter how wealthy you are, you are thankful for the free food you are given after spending $60,000 on one year of your college education.

With so much to do you are thankful that Netflix is there to distract you from writing a 12-page research paper. It’s either Netflix or a nap that will help you forget you have a ton of work that you won’t start until the night before.
3. Parent visits.
In high school you hated hanging out with your parents, but now that you’re in college you appreciate the times they come to visit. Not only is it a new set of people to vent to, but also they take you out to nice dinners and take you on that much-needed shopping trip to enhance your winter wardrobe.
If you’re not a coffee person already, then college will most likely turn you into one. All those late nights studying makes you appreciate the caffeine and caramel inside a Starbucks cup.
5. Frat parties.
You never have to plan anything on a weekend because there is a good chance that one of the fraternity houses already has something planned for you. With parties every weekend you never have to get bored and it’s the perfect place to blow off stress from the week.
6. Breaks.
Even though you love your friends, your social life, and the sense of freedom you have when you’re away at school, you are thankful for the breaks. Let’s face it; the majority of your college career is being stressed out. Getting a break here and there to go home or on vacation is greatly appreciated.
7. Afternoon classes.

Most students will stay up late even if they don’t have to, so you’re thankful for the afternoon classes that let you sleep through the morning.
8. Friends.

With your whole life ahead of you and no plan at all it’s good to have friends that are in the same position as you. They won’t judge you for having too much fun at last night’s party and will reassure you everything will be okay after you fail your exam. Really your friends are the only reason why you haven’t dropped out of school yet.
9. Cheat sheets.
When your teacher says you’re allowed to bring in a double-sided piece of paper to help you on the exam you’re thankful for 6-point font and a magnifying glass. Having all the formulas on hand might just help you pass the exam you only started studying for yesterday.
10. You're not in high school.

No matter how much harder classes can be, it’s a million times better than being in high school. Putting up with the teachers and the tests is worth it if it means you get to spend four years in this wonderful place we call college.
