Fashion to make the perfect, chilly holiday season.

One of my favorite things about the holidays is the fashion. Red lipstick, dark make up, leggings and boots - I love it! It's the best time of year with the best type of style. It may be cold, but the cute clothes totally makes it worth it. Here are some of my favorite holiday attire that I wear all season long:

1. Boots - booties and high-knee

I feel like this is a given. Who doesn't wear boots on the holidays? My favorite types of boots are booties, that are ankle short, or high-knee boots, that go over the knee (duh). The best way to wear boots in the winter is with leggings or tights and a dress. The're absolutely a must during this snowy holiday season.

2. Tights/ Leggings

Duh? Right? Tights and leggings are a must for the holidays. Tights can easily be worn with a cute pencil skirt or a loose sweater/t-shirt dress. The style with leggings and tights changes every year, but this year it's mostly big sweater dresses (like Ariana Grande has been rocking). The best thing about leggings is that you can dress them down or dress them up, and either way they will look adorable and be comfy, which is the real struggle!

3. Red Lipstick/Dark Lipstick

Pull out your red lipstick and rock it like Taylor Swift! Some girls would say they could be way too white for this look (me included), but if Swift can do it, you can too! Red adds a bit of POP to your dark wardrobe for this dark season. It brightens up your look and definitely makes you look sexy, without trying too hard. However, if you don't feel confident wearing such a bright color, you can always go for a darker, more maroon shade to match the theme for the season.

4. Vests

I love vests! They are so cute and so comfy, plus they keep you warm. I've been wearing a dark blue vest ever since the cold season started. Of course some days are way too cold for a vest, but on the days where it's a little less cold, they still get the job done. I've just been wearing my vest with a thick, comfy sweater. They are definitely one of my favorites to wear during the season.

5. Long socks/ Fuzzy long socks

This has got to be, hands down, my favorite thing to wear during the holidays. Long socks (especially festive or fuzzy long socks) look so cute with boots and over jeans or leggings/tights. Not only that, but you can also wear them around the house while trying to be comfy. Fuzzy socks are the best for the really cold days where your face almost freezes off or for the days where your floor in your house is just a little colder than normal. You can never have enough long socks!

6. Ugly (or Not So Ugly) Christmas Sweaters

This is the best part about the holidays: wearing those ugly but not-so-ugly, cute Christmas sweaters! Sweaters with Christmas trees, reindeer, Santa Claus, cats with Santa hats, or even festive pugs. They are the best kinds of sweaters to wear! There are so many ugly Christmas sweater parties over the season, you just have to stock up on this holiday fashion item!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
