1. Reading all the time.
You're almost majoring in reading. The joy of it is lost right around the week before finals.
2. The same book is read in multiple classes.
The A doesn't just stand for adultery. His name is Ishmael. Uncle Tom is a Christ-like figure. We get it.
3. So. Many. Papers.
You become great at whipping out 12-page papers, and usually procrastinating for as long as you can.
4. Everything is deep.
Everything has a purpose and a greater meaning.
5. The library is your second home.
Between all of the reading, analyzing, and writing, it's the best environment to be in.
6. Thinking your paper was amazing only to get it back covered in red ink.
The most deflating feeling, but also the most encouraging to revise your paper and make it perfect.
7. Always having your mind blown by your professors insights.
Sometimes you're pretty sure they aren't even real people, just genius machines.
8. Constantly doubting your writing.
You're never quite sure if this is a good thesis or not. Better just change your paper's entire direction.
9. "So are you writing a book?"
Believe me, if I had time I would love to.
10. Being asked "What are you going to do with that degree?"
The most common and insulting question.
