Here are 10 empowering things to do for yourself every day.

  1. Look at yourself in the mirror in the morning, and instead of looking for zits, and other imperfection, compliment yourself on at least one thing.
  2. Write down a list of things you want to achieve that day. It’s been proven that marking things off a list helps people feel like they have a purpose (and can help you live longer according to many.)
  3. Sing in the shower because why not! Singing is a great way to let out emotions and lift spirits.
  4. Try to fit in a small workout every day! Even if it’s only 5 minutes, it’s better than nothing and will help you feel more comfortable with your own body.
  5. Along with number 4: listen to Gloria Gaynor’s top hit, “I Will Survive.” Because you will, and you’ll look dang good doing it too!
  6. Practice smiling more. I don’t know about you, but I drive a lot and all too often I am not smiling, although it might look weird to smile along in a car, smile and strengthen your cheek bones! You’ll thank yourself and feel great about it!
  7. Sing really loud in your car when you aren’t practicing your smile, because just like the shower, this is the second best place to feel like a superstar.
  8. Compliment at least two people a day. Never underestimate the joy you will receive for making somebody else feel good about themself! And you never know what they can be going through, any small gesture of kindness goes a long way!
  9. Laugh! Charlie Chaplin wasn’t lying when he said, “a day without laughter is a day wasted.” There’s always at least one thing to laugh about in a day, so take advantage of it! Get those endorphin's moving and feel awesome about it!
  10. At the end of each day, no matter how bad the day was, write day three good things that happened to you. It will help you realize the little things, and appreciate your own life that much more.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
