If you were anything like me during the season finale of GOT, you definitely weren't sitting down. You were on your feet, yelling at John Snow not to have sex with his aunt, screaming at Sansa for putting Arya on trial, then doing a victory dance because of Sansa, and then literally dying when White Walkers demolished the Wall. The show basically had me doing Kegels the entire time. It was an emotional rollercoaster, filled with ups (oh so many ups) and horrible, plummeting, heart-in-your-stomach downs with a lot of WTF moments in-between. So yeah, I'm exhausted from last Sunday and I'm sure, if you also watched the finale, you're probably still processing what happened. Here are 16 emotions that we all felt while watching the GOT finale!
1. AWWWWWW YEAH, THE SHOW IS STARTING (excitement)
You've felt this feeling every time the DUN DUN DUNDA DUN DUN DUNDA DUNNNNNN starts to play. You might even dance during this part.
2. This meeting is a horrible idea (fear)
Yeah, let's get all of our favorite characters in one spot and mix in the meanest bitch in the whole world. Sounds like a great idea.
3. Please don't tell me the Wight died...again (confusion)
When the Wight didn't come out at first I was about to turn off the show. This was the ultimate cliffhanger. Too bad the Wight was on a chain and didn't kill Cersei.
4. Jesus John, LEARN HOW TO LIE. (frustration)
Okay, we get it, John, being a good guy is essentially your character trope. But come on, a lot of deception could have been prevented if you stopped thinking with your (honorable and truthful) dick and thought like someone who has been to battle before.
5. Goodbye Tyrion (acceptance)
Well, he's lasted this long so it really seemed like this was the end for him. I don't understand why some of the characters on this show are so into self-sacrifice. All you get out of it is death.
6. HE'S ALIVE (relief)
YESSS!!! Okay so I accepted the fact that I thought Tyrion was going die but when he walked back out into the arena I was so happy to hear the little pit pat of his feet. You can't kill Tyrion off! He's one of the only rational characters on the show. (Did anyone else think the wine was poisoned when he took a drink?)
7. Can Sansa be even more of a bitch? (annoyance)
Oh, she's putting Arya on trial?? HELL NO.
8. OH SHIT SANSA. LET'S GOOOOOOO (happiness)
Don't even try to tell me that you guessed Sansa would call out Littlefinger. This was probably one of my favorite moments during the entire finale. I was like, "Whaaaatttt??" and then I died from happiness.
9 EAT SHIT LITTLEFINGER, GET HIM ARYA (euphoria)
We all breathed a huge sigh of relief that that meddling bastard died.
10. Reek...and...redemption...YES. (joy)
I was totally not expecting this. I'm ready for some Reek character development. The whole "I'm a coward" story line was getting old.
11. Go die in a hole, Cersei (rage)
I'm pretty sure that we've all felt this way throughout all of the seasons of GOT. But when she double crossed John and Dany and wouldn't march North, I almost punched the TV and myself. Also, how could she turn against Jaime like that? He's literally the only person who likes her.
12. Is that...the Army of the Dead? Here? Already? I wasn't prepared (shock)
We all knew something big had to happen during the season finale, and with all of the awesome things that happened (Sansa killing Littlefinger, Tyrion surviving the meeting with Cersei, and everyone "agreeing" to march North) something had to go terribly wrong. So when the Army of the Dead shows up with its new dragon and NO ARMIES TO DEFEND THE NORTH, I'm pretty sure we all shat our pants.
13. OK, yes we all know that John is a Targaryen (impatience)
Thank you to the directors for making someone say it out loud but we all kinda knew that John was a Targaryen.
14. THAT IS YOUR AUNT JOHN (repulsion)
We've all wanted this for so long.......but now I feel gross.
15. ICE DRAGON. ICE DRAGON. ICE DRAGON. ICE DRAGON. (literally every emotion in the book)
ICE DRAGON. ICE DRAGON. ICE DRAGON. OH MY GOD. ICE DRAGON.
16. I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2019 UNTIL THE NEXT SEASON?? (if death was a feeling, this is what it would feel like)
I didn't expect any less than to be left on a cliff hanger, but a cliff hanger this big?? This is unfair. This is UNJUST. WHO CAN I SUE?
The season finale of GOT was gut wrenching, exciting, and terrifying. We were left on the edge of our seats and now we have to stay there until 2019. On a more positive note, if you are having horrible GOT withdrawls, check out The Last Kingdom and Norsemen on Netflix! Overall, we have to stick through this together. No matter what happens in our world, even if there is a nuclear war, we have to make it to 2019. Then we can die.
