Freshman Year Is Coming to a Close

Emotions at the End
http://hopeengaged.blogspot.com/2013/02/love-is-deeper-still.html

·Excitement: When you first realize that you only have a two or three weeks left of school left before summer at the end of your freshman year of college, you will be so excited that you can't breathe. You will be mentally exhausted by that point, and the idea of time to rest your brain is incredible. Even if you're like me and taking a couple of summer classes, 6 credit hours compared to 17 is nothing. It is still a much needed break for your brain.

·Panic: Once you start looking at all of the homework, quizzes, papers, presentations, documents, and exams that you have before the end of the year, you will freak. You will look at your syllabi and not even be able to figure out any sort of way that it can all fit in to the next two/three weeks. Especially when you see the schedule for that one professor that had the grand idea to give you a month without any assignments and cram them all into the last two weeks.

·Sadness: Once you figure out how everything will work out, or at least convince yourself it will (it will, I promise), you will realize that while yeah, a break is need, you're also going to go three months without seeing your friends. Depending on where you live and what you're involved in, you aren't going to see your roommate, your classmates, your bible study group, your new church family, your sisters, your big, etc. It's hard, and it's sad. Just remember - you have social media, texting, calls, facetime, and also - don't forget to write a good old handwritten snail mail letter when you're really missing them. It is really sentimental and if someone says that finding a handwritten letter in the mail when they go to get the typical bills and junkmail from the mailbox doesn't make their day, they're lying.

·Relief: After you go through your roller coaster of emotions, you will realize that everything will work out. Your friends will be there next year. In today's society, we are never out of touch with people unless we want to be, and we are never out of resources for studying and learning to prepare for those assignments and finals as long as we are willing to take the time. You have come too far to stop. You have made it through months of this, so finish out strong. You got this. I believe in you, and so do many others.

Just remember: There is no pit so deep, that God's love is not deeper still (Corrie Ten Boom.) No matter where you stand right now, it will work out. You will have a successful and happy life. You will get that degree. You can do it, and you will survive it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
