Cheating has changed throughout the years. It was strictly physical actions with someone. Sex, kissing, sexting and so forth. Then bit by bit cheating grew to be more than physical. Cheating emotionally with someone seems to be as worse as the actually act upon it.
Emotionally meaning connecting on every basis of the mind and soul. You've developed a deep connection and are able to talk to them about anything and everything. Long text conversations turn into hour long phone calls. Slowly but surely those feelings turn into love.
But, you don't think you're doing anything wrong since you haven't acted upon it. False. Can you imagine being the S.O. to the person you're with and finding out this? You'd go CRAZY. Your S.O. are talking to another person about everything they used to with you. It's the basis on why you fell in love with the person.
So many people do not know they are doing it to others. They think it's a harmless relationship with someone, but in the back of their minds they know this isn't right. The development of feelings and keep having to push it down because you guys are strictly "just friends". Sooner or later the subconscious feelings will rise to the surface and you'll either have to act on those emotions or walk away.
Some may disagree with emotionally cheating, but developing a deep connection with someone that isn't purely physically speaks more. Cheating is cheating no matter what context you put it in. The trust you built will be destroyed within your relationship and future relationships.
