Wise men say
Only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you?
Elvis. One name and you instantly know what I am talking about. Lately, I have been obsessed with anything Elvis. I could listen to Elvis all day long, every day long. Why when listening to Elvis, the emotions you feel, the way you feel are hundred times better than listening to something that is on the radio now? Elvis evoked emotion at a time where it was a beginning.
Now a days, we throw the word emotion around like it is just a word, and not an active adjective that describes a whole setting of a human being. Elvis was the beginning in my opinion. He could take a song, take his dance moves and make anyone love him. Have you ever heard him sing a old hymn? Listen to him sing "How Great Thou Art" and get back with me on whether he is the legend of all legends.
Elvis can dance like no one else I have ever seen, and made people in the 60's talk. Now think about it, the 50's and 60's were a time where things were starting to unfold. They had just gotten televisions, they listened to their music on cassette tapes and turntables. Life back then was a little more simple... I'm not saying it was simple as simple can be but it was not as complicated as 2016. I'm not even sure if my generation can say they know what a cassette tape looks like. When Elvis sang Can't Help But Fallin' In Love every one swooned.
Music was real back then, music was simple. Music was made for entertainment and not to make money. Elvis was made for music. He entertained, and still does. I am a 23 year old obsessed with Elvis, so you can not say he's out ran his time of being a legend. Elvis will forever be a legend, and his music will forever be apart of this world. There's just something about his voice, his dance moves, the music he sings and just him in general. Elvis can make a 70 year old swoon, and even a 23 year old swoon. Thank the precious Lord for Elvis. Can I get an amen somewhere?
