On May 18, Ellie Goulding graced Oklahoma City with her presence at the OKC Zoo Amphitheater for her Delirium World Tour. It rained all week, but luckily the skies cleared up for this outdoor concert and made it a perfect night to enjoy her performance. School is finally out, so it was the perfect chance to take a little road trip and watch Ellie Goulding do her thing! In case you weren't able to go to her concert, here is a breakdown of how the night went.
The Venue
That was my first time going to a concert at the OKC Zoo Amphitheater, and I had a great time! I bought the VIP pit tickets and I ended up being pretty close to the stage even though I got there right as the gates were opening. The atmosphere was very chill and all of the people around me were incredibly nice. The OKC Zoo Amphitheater was a great venue and definitely perfect for summer concerts!
The Opener
The Knocks kicked off the concert by getting the crowd pumped up for Ellie Goulding. They played their own mixes of popular songs and had the crowd dancing until it was time for Ellie Goulding to come on stage. When she finally came on stage, the crowd went wild. Everyone was so excited and ready to sing and dance along to her songs for the rest of the night.
The Visuals
Ellie Goulding had an amazing technical team behind her performance. The visuals of Ellie on the screen and the lights behind her were incredible, and they really added to the performance. She had everything from a colorful kaleidoscope background to images of herself that were enchanting to watch.
The Dancers
An amazing group of male dancers showcased their athletic ability and musicality on stage with Ellie Goulding. They were incredible to watch and they made the performance even more entertaining. They definitely have a lot of talent. Even Ellie showed off her dance ability in some of her fast paced songs.
The Setlist
Ellie put together the perfect set list for her concert. The crowd sang along to every word of every single one of her songs. Even though I didn't know a few of the songs, I easily caught on to the words because all of her songs are super catchy and fun to sing and dance to.
Her Vocals
Not many artists sound the same live as they do on their tracks, but Ellie Goulding sounded the same, maybe even a little better. Her vocals were incredible and she sounded like an angel. She definitely surprised me in a good way! Her combination of electronic dance with pop is unique and was great to listen to.
