Ellen DeGeneres. Does the name sound familiar? Well, it should, because she’s only the most recent Daytime Emmy Winner of the "Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show" award. Wow, it’s amazing how someone can go from being a vacuum cleaner saleswoman to one of the funniest talk show hosts on television, am I right? She’s also the voice of Dory in “Finding Nemo” and the creator of our favorite iPhone game, “Heads Up!”
You know, Ellen isn’t just your typical talk show host. Her fans are her energy, which allows Ellen to do giveaways, surprise people, scare them, and so much more. She brings 60-year-old hip hop dancers on the show, a young country girl who will be the President of the U.S. one day, sisters who surprise each other with their pregnancies, and twin girls from out of the country who can move like crazy and encourage cancer survivors and current cancer fighters to #JustKeepDancing. In case you’ve missed the last 12 seasons of Ellen, you should probably start catching up on the thirteenth to laugh so hard your stomach hurts. Here are a couple of my favorite moments from her show:
I could spend hours re-watching her YouTube videos, she is so funny.
So how can one describe who Ellen DeGeneres really is? Well, to start, she is thoughtful, brave, classy, a great role model, selfless, and, of course, ridiculously hilarious. She;ll make me laugh to the point where I am out of my seat crying and laughing so hard that I can’t breathe while pressing rewind on my DVR to watch a clip over and over and over again. Seriously, my mom and I will eat lunch together and watch the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" and still have our plates full by the end of the episode because we were laughing the whole time.
While Ellen likes to pick on celebrities such as Justin Bieber for never pulling his pants up or Jennifer Lawrence when she took a nice fall at the Oscars, it’s always out of love, and I think her fans and audience definitely understand that. Ellen is never offensive nor judgmental, which is why we should all respect her.
She might be the master of pranks, scares, and funny games, but she is also the most DeGENEROUS woman of all. Between Shutterfly giveaways, Ford cars, washer machines to help victims from Hurricane Katrina, vacations, and so much more, Ellen does it all.
If you’re ever having a bad day, tune in to "The Ellen Degeneres Show" at 4 p.m. on weekdays. “Be kind to one another.”
