"She's a Trump supporter."

"You are? What is wrong with you?"

That was the beginning of one of many political conversations on November 9th, 2016.

Yes, I voted for Trump. No, that doesn't mean something is "wrong with me."

I can't count how many people have contacted me- simply to argue their beliefs in an attempt to breakdown mine- since that day. They express their fear, their anger, and their clear intolerance to anyone who believes otherwise. What troubles me so deeply is the hypocrisy of it all. The left claims to be so accepting and preaches tolerance of any kind. Yet, when it comes to Republicans- they're simply "deplorable." The right "lacks" morality, humanity- anything really- you name it.

I am an outspoken Republican. Granted, I take a lot of heat for it. Try looking at your phone after 10 minutes and having 50 angry Facebook notifications, messages, emails, etc. Not to mention- getting deleted by 20+ people because of one political status. Where is the tolerance there?

So, it makes sense that many choose to keep quiet about their right-leaning beliefs. The "silent Trump vote" doesn't surprise me. Why would anyone go out of their way to be called a racist, sexist, homophobic misogynist? I can assure you one thing- that is not who we are.

"How can you vote for a man who says such awful things?" Well, the real question here is how you could vote for a woman who has done far worse. Regardless, the election is about policy. I won't be eating dinner with Trump nor Clinton every Sunday night. I will, however, be living under the policies put into place every day.

What has largely happened since November 9th, 2016?

Protest and riots. Against what? The electoral college- the process outlined in our own government's guidelines. Yes, the constitution.

Leaders reaffirming their communities values. Spamming the email accounts of those who belong with assumptions of what the world will become under the new presidency. Yes, assumptions regarding the character of half of our country's population.

What has occurred very minimally since November 9th, 2016?

Questioning. Why did my candidate not win? What am I missing? What do his supporters believe-in so deeply?

Hope and acceptance. Acceptance that Trump won. Hope that Trump and his administration will be good for this country. That we, as one nation, will not fail.

As a country, we do not need self-inflicted violence and ciaos. We don't need intolerance of any kind, hatred, anger, immaturity, nor ignorance. What we need is positivity and unity. As a country, we need to face our reality together.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
