Move in day is one of the most exciting days of the year, and what better way to capture the excitement than posting it all over snapchat. This way you get to share your excitement with the world and everyone else is doing the same. No matter what school you go to, everyone feels the same waves of emotion on the days they return back to their college.

1. The first goodbyes.

These come in bursts, including pets, family members, and friends. Everyone is leaving and the goodbyes must be publicized.

2. The arrival to campus.

This is usually filmed from a car window as students first arrive back on campus. The excitement rises as you begin to recognize the town surrounding your campus and feel the need to capture the moment.

3. The before and after pictures of the dorms and apartments.

One of the most proud moments of move in day is finally furnishing the place that you will be living in for the next nine months. Who wouldn’t want to share that with the world?

4. The reunion of old friends.

Most college friends are not able to see each other over the four months of summer. This means that, when getting back to campus, a reunion is necessary. This also means taking pictures of the interaction is necessary, too.

5. Geofilters. All of them.

Just so everyone knows that you are back on your campus, you have to make sure to put a geofilter on your story. The hardest part is picking which one you want to show to the world.

6. The “college just isn’t ready for this yet” snap.

Usually posted from freshman that only get the idea of what college is from shows such as “Blue Mountain State.”

7. The roommate pictures.

Whether it is random or someone you chose, the first encounters with roommates are always the most exciting. It is good to take some pictures with the person you will hopefully be living with for the next few months.

8. The final goodbyes.

This is much like the first goodbye, but this time it includes the people who came to drop you off at college. This is a much sadder goodbye because, once they leave, it means you are officially on your own.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
