If you're like me and you've never seen a "Star Wars" movie in your life, then all the excitement about the new movie is probably lost on you as well. But not everyone needs to be hyped about "Star Wars" to enjoy what Hollywood is releasing this holiday season. Here are seven movies in theaters or coming out soon that you should be excited for!
1. Krampus
In Theaters
It's Christmas, and it's a horror movie! It doesn't get much better than that. A family is about to lose all holiday cheer when they're haunted by Krampus -- basically the anti-Santa who comes for all the people being naughty. For all of you horror movie junkies out there, this is the perfect movie to get a good scare and be excited for the holidays.
2. Sisters
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are at it again with another hilarious duo in "Sisters." When two distant sisters reconnect to clean out their old house, they suddenly decide to throw one last party before letting it go. If you're a fan of "Baby Mama," then you'll probably love this one too.
3. Macbeth
In Theaters
4. The 5th Wave
Releases January 15th
Rick Yancey's thrilling sci-fi novel comes to the big screen with the release of "The 5th Wave." If you like action, aliens, suspense and hunky boys than you've come to the right place.
5. Kung Fu Panda 3
Releases January 29th
Any fan of Dreamworks movies is exciting about the third installment of the beloved childhood classic, "Kung Fu Panda." It's okay to admit you're excited for this movie if you're over the age of 20, we all are.6. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Releases February 5th
Another genius hybrid plot, this time involving two of society's favorite things: Jane Austen and a zombie invasion. I don't care if you've never heard of "Pride and Prejudice" or if "The Walking Dead" is foreign to you, you're going to want to take this opportunity to see Lizzy Bennet decapitate the undead. Maybe Austen will make a cameo herself.7. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Releases March 4th
The knowledge that Tim Burton got his hands on the movie rights to Ransom Riggs' peculiar and beloved novel is not surprising in the least. If you're a fan of all things strange than this is the movie for you. And if you're a fan of the books, "Library of Souls" was released in September.
