These are bands from all different genres. While they may not be famous, they should be. Check them out so you can say you liked them before it was cool.

1. Marty O'Reilly and the Old Soul Orchestra

Consisting of guitar, bass, drums, and violin, this group takes soul to a whole new level. O'Reilly is an incredibly talented singer and guitar player, and he brings an unmatched energy to every performance. The stage is filled with broken strings every time they perform, and they go all out. Their music is an interesting mix of folk and soul. They are the Grateful Dead of folk music.

2. Zach Heckendorf

Only in his early 20's, Zach Heckendorf is quickly becoming a star. He got a record deal when he was only 19, and he has been touring ever since. He is a rock singer with a little bit of a pop vibe. Definitely check out his music online, but if you ever get the chance to see him live, do it.

3. The Osceola Brothers

Want to hear some hard rock infused with a Beach Boys style? Check out the Osceola Brothers. Every member of the band can flat-out play, and their energy is contagious.

4. Spred the Dub

Yes, that is how to spell this band's name. They are... different. They are a classic reggae group with a trombone player as well. They are definitely not for everyone, but their music is fun and if you like reggae you should check them out.

5. Louis Berry

He is the next Johnny Cash. Yes, I just said that. Louis Berry is the full package. He is intense, has great vocals, writes great songs, and is a great guitar player. He says he wants to be the next great male vocalist, and I can easily see that happening.

6. Lock

Made up of sisters Edie and Gita Langley, Lock is a very new band. Both sisters have toured with prominent musicians such as Jay Z in the past, but now they are doing their own scene. They have a dark style, and a lot of their songs are centered around love and pain. They really tap into your emotions.

7. Rag 'N' Bone Man

This dude is scary, but he has a great voice. His music videos are especially odd, but they also contain some cool messages. He is a big guy with a deep, rich tone. You probably won't have the chance to see him live anytime soon unless you can get to Europe, but check him out immediately.

8. Emmanuel and Phillip Hudson

I have to admit I am afraid to put this on the list. If you are a huge country music fanatic, these guys may make you mad. They sing country in a joking way almost making fun of it, but they have great voices. They have a lot of fun too, and their music will put a smile on your face.

Check all of these bands out. It is hard for bands to break through in the industry, and they need all the help they can get.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
