Ego's Clique: A Personal Personification Poem

ARGUMENT: Ego has a clique. It is a clique meaner than any of the ones in the high school movies. Ego’s clique includes him, Anger, Fear, and Hatred, but they are not cute colorful emotions like the ones in Inside Out. Instead, they are a group of physically and emotionally abusive bullies who scar your brain and heart tissue.

An encounter with this clique is inevitable.

But despite being vulnerable

You have a choice

To raise your voice.

My ego and his posse

Tell me

I’m not allowed to write more than one story

What do I say?

I just turn away

Proud

Letting my words from all my works speak loud.

I’m going to write fairy tales, an epic novel, and poetry

I’m going to write all three

Because when I do, I feel more like me.

CONCLUSION: You may feel stressed after listening to what Ego and his friends have to say, but you have a choice to take it to heart or not. Don’t take Ego and his friends’ comments to heart but rather let your heart defend herself.
