I am a future educator. In today's society, teachers can not simply stand in a classroom and direct students or lecture from a text book. Due to the fact that we are in the technology era, future educators are having to keep up with the newest gadgets and discover every possible way to utilize these systems inside their classrooms. Countless hours of exploring Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Smart Board and many others. Outside of technology labs, future educators must be well rounded in all subjects. Teaching is the profession that encompasses all other professions. Inside the school building, teachers are not simply knowledge providers; they are every kind of provider imaginable. They show love to the children who may not see it at home, they keep toothbrushes, toothpaste, crackers, and water on hand at all times because for some children this is the only time they are provided these. Teachers keep coats, hats and gloves for when the weather is colder, and cold snacks for when the weather gets warmer. You see, teachers cannot simply be teachers. They must be anything their children need.
As a teacher in training, my goal is to be the educator who goes above and beyond expectations. My children's safety and security will always take priority over the lessons I have planned. I want to inspire my children to love each other as well as themselves. In starting to love who they are as a group, I hope they will be able to love appreciate their opportunity to obtain an education. Throughout my growing career as a future teacher, i have learned that children only learn what they want to learn and they can only acquire information from someone that they trust and respect. Establishing an initial bond with set the stage for a successful school year. Inside of each classroom, there are future doctors, lawyers, and maybe even presidents. Teachers are the driving force of America. Never underestimate the power, love and patience of a modern day educator.
