Let's be honest, eating healthy can be hard for anyone, but this is especially true for college students. College students live a lifestyle that is filled with all nighters and quick snacks. When arriving to college most freshmen think they would never gain the freshmen fifteen but after looking at their bodies from high school to Sophomore year their body just does not look the same. Here are a list of reasons why eating healthy in college is just so hard:
1. Crunched for time
College students can barely find the time to shower let alone go grocery shopping every week. Pizza rolls, bagel bites, and Ramon noodles turn out to be the perfect dinner for most college students.
2. Wait... How do you make toast again?
Coming into college knowing nothing about cooking can be a problem for a lot of students. The best way to learn is through trial and error and that is very time consuming.
3. Late night munchies
All night long study sessions are often times a weekly event for college students. With hours and hours of studying McDonalds starts to sounds more and more delicious.
4. Wendy's 4 for $4
Taking a trip through the drive through sounds much more convenient than making a trip to the grocery store.
5. Broke as a joke
Most students have been crunched for money at least once while in college so buying the highest quality food is usually not at the top of the list for things to purchase.
6. Freshmen Fifteen
Making bad food habits started when students were freshmen. Breaking bad food habits can be very difficult.
Eating healthy is hard for so many college students. We are all just waiting for that steak at the end of out college journey to kick start a new life.
