Everyone knows that the food in the dining hall isn't exactly considered gourmet, and cooking in your dorm room can be difficult when all you're allowed to have is a microwave and fridge. Luckily, I have compiled some recipes for delicious food that can easily be prepared in your dorm! You may even be able to swipe some of the ingredients from the dining hall...
Quiche in a mug
Eggs are a great source of protein! Quiche in a mug is a delicious way to get some protein without having to wait in the never ending egg line at dhall.
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 1/2 tablespoons of milk
Salt
Ground black pepper
Bread or Bagel
2 teaspoons of cream cheese
1/2 slice of prosciutto or ham
Beat the egg and milk together in your microwave safe mug. Break the bread into small pieces and add it into the mug. Add as much salt and pepper as you like. Stir in the cream cheese. Finally, tear the ham or prosciutto into small pieces and add it to the mug. Microwave everything on high until it is cooked through. This should take about 1 minute 10 seconds. Bon appetite!
Fancy Mac and Cheese
Mac and cheese is a staple in a college student's diet, but Easy Mac can get old pretty quick. Here is a recipe for gourmet microwave mac and cheese.
Ingredients:
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of macaroni
1/2 cup of your favorite cheeses (I recommend a mixture of parmesan and shredded Mexican cheese)
Bacon bits
Add the macaroni and water in a microwave safe mug. Microwave this for about 8 minutes, but take it out at least twice to stir. Make sure pasta is cooked to your liking. You may need to cook it longer in some microwaves. With a small amount of water remaining in the mug, add your cheese. Stir the cheese as it melts. If it does not completely melt put it back in the microwave for 30 seconds. Add your bacon bits. Stir again and enjoy!

1 Tablespoon of Nutella
In a large microwave safe mug, mix together the milk, olive oil and sugar. Next, whisk in the until it is smooth. Add the oats, baking powder, and salt. Mix it until it is well blended. It is done when the top looks dry and it springs back up when you lightly press on it with your finger. Most of the time it will take between 70 and 90 seconds. Eat up!
