You don't even have to leave your room.

Living at college can mean eating a lot of bad cafeteria food and with the weather getting colder, motivating yourself to go out to get it never seems worth it. Cooking can take up a lot of time and ordering food all the time can get really expensive. So here are 10 foods you can make right in your dorm room if you have a Keurig.

1. Oatmeal

Instant oatmeal is a great option for a quick breakfast. It is done in less than two minutes and it comes in a large variety of flavors. You can get it at almost all grocery stores, as well.

2. Mashed potatoes

Instant mashed potatoes are also done in about two minutes. They come in a few flavors and all you have to do is add water. Also, they cost less than one dollar.

3. Gravy

If your mashed potatoes are too bland, you can always add some instant gravy.

4. Soup

These are my personal favorite. Making them always remind me of home, which is very comforting, especially during testing season.

5. Rice

Everyone loves rice, either as a side or even a quick meal. It tastes good with seasoning or plain, so it's a great thing to have in your dorm.

6. Ramen

Possibly the most basic college food, but still great and quick. If you fill it up with hot water from the Keurig, it only takes about one extra minute to be ready and only costs $0.39 at Target.

7. Mac and cheese

My personal favorite is Velveeta instant cups, but Kraft is also a good pick. They are the perfect size for a snack and two makes a good meal.

8. Mug cake

If you don't have a microwave you can still make a few of the mug cake mixes by adding hot water and letting it sit by the heater for a little bit.

9. Jello

You can obviously get this pre-made from the store, but you can make a bunch more in a lot more flavors for a lot less money!

10. Pudding

Again, you can get standard flavors from the store, but making it yourself tastes much better and you can get some really cool flavors if you make it yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
