Getting rose gold hair!

Why Dyeing My Hair Was The Best Thing I Have Ever Done

After months and months of torturing my parents, I finally was able to dye my hair. Granted I got my hair painted more blonde in the summer, but this is the first time I made a big change.

I went to a consult with my stylist and she loved my idea. I showed her three different colors of this "rose gold" idea that I found on Pinterest. She asked if I wanted an appointment right away and I excitedly said yes.

A week later, I walked in right after school in the middle of the week. No one knew I was dying my hair except a few people who I don't go to school with. I walked in and I was the most excited I have been in a while. Even though I wanted more rose gold than brown, I needed my hair to be more on the natural side for school. As I walked in, I was sent to the seat right away. My hair stylist was all ready to go! She was just as excited as I was.

I had to sit in the chair for the longest time waiting for her to mix the best colors that will create the color we were hoping for. Even though it took a long time, it was completely worth it. After the wait was over, we got right to my hair. She started with darkening my roots, and midway down my hair she added a different dye.

The process did not take long, the longest parts were when she was choosing the colors, and after the dye was applied and I needed it to sink into my hair. After watching her add all of these different colors to my hair, this was the product before it was washed out.

I was ecstatic with the outcome of my hair, and it wasn't even finished yet! I was not allowed to move my head for what felt like the longest time. I had to sit like a statue while attempting to talk to my friend, Caroline, who came along to keep me company. Once the waiting was done and my hair was washed, it got blowdried. I was so confused at first because my hair changed colors in different lights! In some photos, it seems like a deep dark brown.

Other times my hair looks close to what it was before.

My favorite part, is in almost every light, there is a reflection of either pink or purple in my hair.

I am completely and utterly in love with my hair. Even if it looked darker than normal and there is not much of the pink reflection, this change is a good one. I definitely love darker hair on me, despite the fact that most people try to change their hair to become blonde. I hope to keep this hair throughout the year and have it become a part of who I am.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
