The Steps You Need To Take When The Due Dates Start Piling Up

First thing's first. Take a deep breath. You can do this.

Sometimes it's all too simple to tell yourself that you have more time to work on assignments than you actually do, to tell yourself that you still have plenty of nights to finish that paper due next week, or that you don't need to study yet for that midterm you have on Monday because I mean, you do have this weekend. It's a tough problem, this issue of procrastination that we let creep up into our minds, but it gets even worse when that issue is coupled with the fact that everything you might have been procrastinating on, or at least putting on the back burner, is all due in the same week. It's a recipe for stress, sleepless nights, and somehow, still getting it all done- and this is how you're going to do just that.

First things first. Take a deep breath. You got this. Try not to stress, stress is the enemy. You might feel like there isn't enough coffee in the world to keep you up long enough to finish your paper, but trust me, you don't need as much coffee as you think to get everything done. When you know you have to finish something, and finish it fast, your mind isn't going to rest until you get it done. However, you can't let your mind get the best of you and end up stressing too much. This is where the breathing part comes in. Calm down and take a few deep breaths before you start to attack your work. If you go into it stressed out, then the final product isn't going to be as good as it could be.

Now that you've calmed down enough to start you work, it's time to actually start it. Put away any and all distraction, and this includes your phone. Find a place to sit that fits your ideal work environment. If you like to work in dead silence, the top floor of the library is the place for you. If you like some noise, a coffee shop might be your best option. Once you've found your spot, take out your work, and attack it head on.

Take breaks when you need to, but don't let them end up being longer than the amount of time you work. If you stay focused and keep your eyes on the prize, that prize being freedom from a week full of papers and exams, then you're going to come out on top. You're gonna conquer midterm season, a stressful week of classes, or whatever it might be that you're struggling with, and next time, try not to wait until the last minute to get your work done.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
