3 reasons Doctor Strange will make you .
Look, everyone likes The Avengers. No one's going to sit here and say the Avengers can’t scrap. The Avengers can scrap. But compared to Dr. Strange, The Avengers are bullshit.
I love Marvel movies as much as the next guy, but Dr. Strange is in a different league. From the fascinating visual effects, to unique concepts, and all-star cast, Dr. Strange pretty much blew whatever chance DC had of making a comeback, out of the water.

The story line:
This movie was damn good and Marvel knows it. The opener was nothing but cocky- a private mini movie of Marvel self advertising. This movie takes a basic sob-story plot and morphs it into something that I’ve never quite seen. It shows struggle from a man who’s never experienced struggle then throws you in on this complex adventure about secret magic driven religion, and essentially had me convinced my future resides in some temple in Tibet.
The Special Effects:
I physically cannot verbalize how crazy good this movie was. It was an experience, a trip of sorts. Marvel straight designed a superhero origin which felt like more a spiritual acid trip than anything else. The magic looks absolutely beautiful, but at the same time it seems realistic, almost believable. The psychedelic nature of the visual effects gives the viewer a sense of total immersion in the film. Dr. Strange basically took everything that was cool about Inception and make it five times better. From the opening scene, the viewer is strapped in and is held on the edge of their seats until the post credit scenes roll around. That is a feat very few movies manage to pull off, and Dr. Strange makes the cut into that exclusive group.

The Origin Story and Characterization:
Sure, Steve Rogers is badass. So is Tony Stark, I’m not gonna argue on that. However, their origin stories are relatable. A wimpy kid injected with a super-soldier serum and frozen for 60 years, boom, Captain America. A tech billionaire is captured by terrorists and forced to create an exo-suit to escape, boom, Iron Man. While that’s cool and all, they both are onset by extreme circumstances. Dr. Strange takes a more unique approach. You know what isn’t extremely unlikely? Getting into a car crash due to texting and having severe nerve damage because of it. This character is also a much a more an extremely vain and frank personality than many we have seen before in the MCU, which adds a very fresh dynamic to the film. The movie holds a number of instances in which strange shocks the viewer with how harsh and arrogant he is. His overall persona changes throughout the film as well, which is a nice change of pace from the somewhat predictable characters we’ve grown to expect from Marvel films.

As Marvel’s 14th film, everyone had doubts they could keep up the momentum this long. Dr. Strange, however, is a glorious monument to the resolve and success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its continuous reign over Hollywood and theaters all over the world. Doctor Strange also marks the first use of any type of magic within a Marvel Movie, which stands testament to the ever growing creativity of Marvel, and their ability to so perfectly translate the comic book page to the movie screen
