We live in a bubble during college. We are so used to our routines and the people we see that we sometimes fall into autopilot. We forget how to act, be and dress like normal people. Someone out there just read that line and thought, "What is she talking about? I'm more than normal." That same person is also wearing the same clothes out and about that they have slept in for 2 days, had fried mac 'n' cheese bites for breakfast and is going on their fourth day in a row without eating a vegetable. No sweetheart, this is not normal.
Due this abnormality that us college students face daily, our wardrobe is usually the first to suffer. Before we know it, we start putting on clothes when we're half asleep and leave the house not knowing where or when a third of the pieces in our closet came from. We also prefer comfort over style the majority of the time. With all of this coming and going, who can blame you? But I think it's time we all sat down and reflected on our choices because this "comfort" thing is getting out of hand.
1. Crocs
Attention girls who do this: stop. There's better ways to be lazy with your footwear and you can look way better doing it. Instead of dressing like a toddler, invest in a pair of shoes you can literally whip out at anytime. BetaBrand saw a problem and fixed it. They've created FlipSlips in three different shades: black, teal and red that can bend in every direction. Long walk to class? Wear your cute but painful shoes there, and then FlipSlips on your way back. They're made with neoprene so you'll be walking on a cloud all day. The solution is here, take advantage of it.
2. Sweatpants at the bar
Even Drake messes up sometimes. Gentleman, why do you do this? Yes, sweatpants are comfortable, we all know this. There's a reason they feel like you're always in your bed: because they were meant to stay there. I once read that if you leave the house in sweatpants you have lost. Be a winner, get some decent pants. Once again, BetaBrand came in to save the day. They too noticed this slob kabob epidemic and came up with the best thing I've ever seen. What is it you ask? Sweatpants that look like dress pants. You are SO welcome.
3. Leggings, but hear me out
