Sometimes you get caught up in the essence of life. It overtakes and overwhelms at times. It's a beautiful thing, and it's something that we are blessed to experience. But when getting caught in the whirlwind of things and becoming so busy that you can barely breathe, remember who you are, where you came from, and what you love. I feel like these are things that help me make it through on the daily.
Who you are.
Maybe you aren't the person you want to be... this is okay.
Work to be better. Push yourself to be the person that you always imagined yourself of being. When I say never to forget who you are this means don't forget the person on the inside. Don't forget the child who picked flowers to get to her mother and who helped dad walk the dogs. Don't forget the teenager who loved to read and sit and get lost in books for hours and hours. Don't forget the future that you imagined for yourself and that you are continuing to work towards day by day. All of these things make up who you are, don't forget them.
Where you came from.
You wouldn't be here today without experiencing the places you came from. Maybe it's dark, and maybe it isn't something that you want to remember. That's okay too. Maybe it's beautiful and it's somewhere that you wish you could go back and experience 100 times over, don't worry, I wish I could too. But where you came from is part of who you are. It's something that you will one day be either proud of or admire because it helped to create the beautiful being that you are now and continuing to be.
What you love.
This will be my favorite one to talk about considering it's the most important one. Never never never forget what you love. Do you love theatre? Art? Dogs? The smell of fresh cut grass? Laying in the sun? Whatever it is, keep it close to your heart. This is something that will help you get through the harder and darker days. Doing what you love helps you to love yourself and love life. Without things that we enjoy doing, we are only a lifeless zombie walking through each day without taking in the beauty of the world. Do something for yourself that you love.
