Why you shouldn't loose the child in you.

As we grow older, we tend to lose the child in us. Of course, every year we're getting older and older, but that doesn't mean that we can't still act like a kid every once in a while. I heard something that truly intrigued me this week. Someone said, "we should accept Christ as a child accepts each and everything you tell them immediately without questioning it."

This really struck me. It struck me so much because it's completely and utterly true. Once we start growing and experiencing the world for ourselves, we often come up with our own opinions and think all too logically about every single thing. Instead of placing our faith in Jesus, we question his existence.

I know I'm not the only one when I say that it is truly difficult to cast all your worries on the Lord and let him take it from there, but we should. Not only should we put our trust in the Lord, but we should carry over our childlike innocence into our daily lives period. We were put on this earth for a reason so, why should we spend it stressed out, and angry all the time.

We should security in the fact that we are where we're supposed to be in our life, and it's not anyone else's life but our own. So why not live it up? Why not experience everything you possibly can, and trusting that the Lord has your back. He is always there, 100% of the time. Even when you don't think he is, he's there.

Why is it so hard for us to relinquish control of our life, and accept things as a child would without question and as live as carefree as a child. Of course, there are things that we do actually have to worry about that kids don't, but there's no use in being worried all the time, especially about the things we can't change. So if there's anything you take from this, it's that we should have childlike faith and know that the Lord is our protector and in Him, we're more secure then we will ever know. For, "life is a game, play it; Life is a challenge, meet it; Life is an opportunity, capture it." - Unknown

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
