Psalm 18:19 says, “He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.” Just think about that for a minute. The creator of all the earth, the sun, the flowers, the stars and so on, delights in you. Delight is defined as pleasing someone greatly. You are pleasing to the creator of all.
Our God knows every single detail of our lives. He knows every one of our actions and thoughts, but still chooses to delight in us. How crazy is that? In Psalm 139:15-18 it says, “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.”
The Lord knows every little detail about you. He created you in your mother’s womb and knows every single hair on your head. He cares for you so deeply. He has thoughts about YOU more than every grain of sand on the entire earth. It is insane that someone loves you so much and thinks of you that many times. Our human minds can’t even begin to gage that significance.
This world tends to feed us lies every single day. We log onto Facebook or Instagram and immediately something on our feeds make us feel bad about ourselves. Maybe people in our lives have spoken a lie over us that we believed and still find it to be the truth in our minds. The words written in the love letter that God wrote tell us differently. Those lies are just that: lies. So don’t believe these false statements we are fed every single day; instead, believe the alive God-breathed truth that was given to us in scripture.
You are so much more than that voice inside your head calling yourself ugly. You are a creation made in the image of God; you are beautiful. You are so much more than you’re telling yourself, “I am not special.” You were created so uniquely that no one on this earth is exactly like you. You are so much more than thinking, “No one even cares about me.” You are known by the Lord of Lords, who knows you more than you know yourself. You are so much more than us believing, “I am not good at anything.” You have gifts and talents that God has given you and a purpose for your life that was set before you were a thought in your parents’ heads. You are so much more than that lie that is saying “I am not good enough.” You are more than enough; you are worth dying on a cross for.
You are worthy. You are special. You are enough. You are cared for. You are precious. You are delighted in. You are known. You are loved. You are more.
