This past week I read a devotion from Proverbs 31 Ministries by Lysa TerKeurst that has resonated in my heart and mind since I read it. The title was "I'm Scared to Pray Boldly," and it talks about having a strong and powerful prayer life.

I hope you'll check it out; it will definitely touch your heart
Over the past few months, God has continually shown me His faithfulness in my life. In the struggles and stresses of college, it is so easy to become discouraged. I often question if I am where God wants me to be. However, God has revealed to me that any time I start to feel this way, all I have to do is call to Him. He is waiting for me. He gives me the answers my heart desires. This article spoke to me because it said for us not to get caught up in asking God to do things if it is His will. All we have to do is simply ask and watch Him work. No, His answer will not always be yes, but when we pray this way we find ourselves in complete and utter dependence on Christ. He shows us how His plans are greater than our own. It shows us that He answers us in His timing and His way. The power of prayer is amazing. Anytime we're feeling overwhelmed, all we have to do is cry out for God's help and His guidance. We were created to depend on Him, and He wants us to talk to Him. We should continually talk to Him about every situation in our life. We should not be afraid to tell Him how we're feeling. We find true freedom when we can be open and honest with our Heavenly Father. It humbles us to see the power of Holy God. It shows us our value by revealing His great love for us. It brings peace to a troubled heart.
Hebrews 4:16 says:
Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
When you can't see His hand, trust His heart.
