What Can A Decade Say About You?

Everyone goes through a year differently, here is how my decade was

Now that a new decade is upon us, we typically look back into the years that made it up. The years that help shape us into the ones we are today. Through those years, everyone has a different experience, some may be similar, but none are never the same. From here on forward, I will essentially be telling how the past ten years of my life were and what I experienced.

Way back in 2010-2011, I was in the fourth grade. Not much happened to me in the fourth and fifth grades other than a young kid having fun with his friends and handing out L's in kickball on the playground. This was also a time where I didn't play any sports, other than Minecraft, but we won't count that.

While the world did not end in 2012 as once said to be, my time in elementary school did. I was now in sixth grade at a new school with some new soon to be friends I have now. Sixth grade was a weird time-middle school, in general, was a weird time for everyone- This was a time where I got to see first hand all the different groups of people, this being the popular ones, robotics team, art goers, nerds, and to be honest, I don't know where I would place myself. I wasn't much of a sports guy, but I did get a few wins in dodgeball and kickball.

Aha, more middle school memories...2013-2014 which would've been seventh and eighth grade. I can safely say that I still did not do sports, nor did I have much knowledge about them. If you knew me in middle school, I apologize, I was very cringey, but hey..I think I turned out fine for the most part. Most of what I remember from these years happened in eighth grade. This is where I can pinpoint the times where I had met the friends I still have to this day. This was the year where I had m first real crush too-and she was also my best friend-, but that's another story. despite being one of the few in eighth grade with a bit of facial hair, I quickly learned that the girls did not like it. The peachfuzz mustache did not stay long.

High school Years...all four of them

Going into my freshman year of high school, I still had my friends from the eighth grade as well as my crush, all by my side. not much happened my freshman year other than me being the women's volleyball manager and-get this-I started y track and field career. After freshman year, I was starting to get the hang of what high school was going to be for me. I wasn't the straight-A student nor did I want to be. I just wanted to be a little above average.

Sophomore year, we did it, boys!

Sophomore year, this was an odd time, my hair was at an awkward length. I was still the women's volleyball team manager. Though that fall I no longer had a crush. Things did n't go as planned, but this isn't the end for me yet. I was going to give up just because one girl said no. As the saying goes "There is plenty of fish in the sea", well I needed a new fishing spot, so that's what I did. In February of 2017. I met a girl who- despite belief--became my first girlfriend. She was amazing. Now I realize high school relationships aren't worth much in some eyes, but this was a big deal to me. I became super happy now that I had someone like her in my life, she cared about me just as much as I did with her. Come to soon, we broke up after a month, but hey, I am only mentioning this in here because this relationship is what has helped shape me into who I am.

Now that I am an upperclassman, I had power...well not really. I was still managing the volleyball team and doing track, but this was a year where I met so many people. I don't remember how it happened but this is where I learned that I like to talk and meet new people. I had come out of my shell and was born into a new man, a better-looking guy with okay-looking facial hair and looks. I was still single- I am to this day- but that's not the main focus. Junior year is where I found my solid group of friends to hang out with before school and outside as well.

Alas, we arrive at 2019 senior year. At this point, I knew my crew and had my life together for the most part. I was now head manager of the volleyball team, a senior on the track team and saw my time coming to an end and eventually going off to college and not seeing my underclassman friends. I got accepted into Missouri State University, which was the only school I applied to attend. I ended up graduating high school, made it through the summer and am now in college.

Since it is a new decade, I am curious as to what will happen in my life. All I can say for now is that I am excited to begin a new chapter in my life, ten years may seem long, but at the rate, it's going, 2030 will be here before I know it. I have plenty more memories within the past ten years, but those could fill a book- which I would like to write one day in the future.

Everyone's decade may have been different in all ways possible, but I would like to say that no matter what may happen in the next ten years, it all happens for a reason. I also wish that anyone who has a new year's resolution this year, that you do completemit...as for me not so much.

Happy New Year everyone cheers to a new decade!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
