While many view cute and cuddly canines as "man's best friend," it may not always be the case. Despite the friendly and warm reputation that dogs have earned through their loyalty and affection, there are certain breeds that people must keep an eye out for.
Pit Bull
While many pit bulls can be very friendly, some have been known to be rather violent. In total, there has been sixty-six human fatalities caused by pit bulls, a breed of dogs recognized for its aggression and ferocity. However, a large number of pit bulls are bred and trained for dog fighting, a highly illegal activity that has placed many individuals behind bars.
German Shepherd
German Shepherds, a breed commonly trained as a guard dog, is known for its aggressiveness. However, these animals, though a beautiful breed, can be too aggressive at times. While this may be the case, they can be defended given that they are most commonly utilized in law enforcement scenarios.
Doberman Pinscher
Dobermans are highly esteemed for their loyalty, a trait of theirs that can work towards the disadvantage of some in certain situations. Like German Shepherds, they too are often trained as guard dogs, learning to defend their owners with their lives. This can often lead to injuries to those who pose threats, making Dobermans a dog to be careful around, but at the same time, one to admire the loyalty of.
Husky
The Husky, arguably one of nature's most beautiful breed of canines, is not always the friendliest. A close relative of the malamute, this breed is primarily meant to be a worker, rather than a pet. They must be watched closely, as maulings amongst huskies have occurred.
Rottweiler
The Rottweiler, a German breed, is one of the most common breeds in the world. It is also known to be very calm, but at the same time, can release in unexpected violent outbursts.
While dogs are prone to outbreaks and attacks, it is worth noting that a majority of breeds are known primarily for their affection and friendliness. It is important to be careful around certain breeds, but also to recognize the strong qualities that each of these animals possesses, as positive stories are consistently released regarding the behaviors and actions of dog breeds deemed to be dangerous.
