Does Hilary Clinton Need To Be The First Woman To Lead Our Country?
Hilary…depending on your partisan affiliation that name either resonates in your soul with a deep sense of hope and promise of a bright future or a deep thunderous hatred for the liberal matriarch that she has become recognized as followed by the depressing concern for the future of our beloved country.
In case you have been living under a rock or are a devout Libertarian, living on your farm, sowing crops under your “don’t tread on me” flag, and polishing your stock - pile of AR-15s, you will know that Hilary Clinton is running for the office of President of the United States in 2016. Yes, she is a lady and yes, she is a democrat. No, hell will not freeze over when she is elected because she undoubtedly will.
However, the question I raise is “Even though she is the clear favorite, does she deserve my vote?” For those of you who know me, I lean left on a lot of the main issue such as Pro-choice, women’s rights, LGBT rights and believe it or not I don’t think certain people should be allowed to own a gun nor should any civilian be allowed to own all the really fun “combat” type rifles but that’s another article for another time.
I digress.
Why is it that a candidate with whom I agree with on 80% of all issues does not have my vote automatically? She is very qualified Yale Law graduate, political insider for the last 20 years, former New York Senator, and most recently Secretary of State.
One main concern of mine was the discovery of foreign money being given to the Clinton’s company during Hilary’s run as Sec of State. Now even the most objective person I know says, “That’s a red flag, chief.” Basically what happened is all the important oil and gas companies have made donations estimated up to a total of 5 million clams. That many buckskins can buy a whole lot of “Hilary 2016” koozies. What all of this looks like is someone is trying to buy themselves a candidate or a Hilary supporter would say she just courting the money, playing the games that is US politics to do good for her people and bring peace to the land.
I do not buy it. I want to though. I want to say she is the right choice. I want to say that for the third term in a row a democrat will lead us out of a time of ignorance and land us on the side of right but I just cannot let go of my gut feeling that she is not what she seems to be.
Now this second point may bring up a lot of anger for those of you readers who trust Fox News or as the republicans say “The Real News.” Benghazi…she flat out dropped the ball and it cost four men their lives. I firmly believe the dropping of said ball was an honest mistake, something that she learned from and grew as a leader by experiencing that event.
With that being said, it’s still a mistake that I am having a hard time letting go of…
My tertiary platform is email fiasco. Does everyone understand how easily this whole issue could have been avoided?! Two email addresses that is it… I am 24 yrs old I have four email accounts and I only use two of them, the others are for junk. This is a person who has the lives of others in their hands and you can’t seem to take the time to create another email? Mind boggling laziness in my opinion. I know Hil, I hear ya, “but it was so convenient” and my response to that is “what is the law?” She had to have a government email that was encrypted and capable of protecting sensitive information. She simply chose not to do it. That kind of elitism is something that really gets under my skin and I refuse to look past it.
In closing, she has done a lot of good for us and for the people of Arkansas and New York. I just do not trust her anymore and now I have do more research to find which republican I hate the least. Ohio Governor Jon Kasich is my early favorite.
This may not be a popular opinion to have in South Mississippi, but it is the one i think is right and I will always try my best to be on the side of right.
Peace out Girl Scout
