17 Things I'd Rather Do Than Play Another Round Of 'Fortnite'

Sleep is a vital component to having a healthy lifestyle.

Epic Games' "Fortnite" isn't getting the same buzz it had when the game first came out, but it's still a popular game. It is hard to tell when it will stop being as popular as it currently is, but I know for sure that you will not make me play "Fortnite." Because here are 17 things I'd rather be doing.

1. Go on a solo date

Even though "Fortnite" can be a multiplayer game, I'd rather go on a solo date because I can 1) have a more peaceful time, and 2) treat myself.

2. Play a different video game

Whether it's "NBA 2K" or "NFL Madden" or "NCAA Football," I find that to be more interesting than "Fortnite" because there's a deeper strategy involved. You have to control every aspect of your own team as well as your opponents and you have to be able to find favorable match-ups to your advantage. You make adjustments on the fly more than you do in "Fortnite" because you're basically attacking the whole time.

3. Work out

Who doesn't want to get closer to being in tip-top shape?

4. Go shopping

It doesn't always have to be for clothing, but I can spend my time and money on something that I'll actually use longer than I ever play "Fortnite."

5. Go on a date

I can put myself out there and connect with others over something other than "Fortnite."

6. Sleep

Sleep is a vital component to having a healthy lifestyle.

7. Study/go to class

I can spend that time to prepare for an exam or class and continually progress as a student.

8. Go to church

I'd rather learn more about my Heavenly Creator than to play "Fortnite" during that time.

9. Play/learn to play an instrument

Even if it's the "Fortnite" theme song, I'd think that playing an instrument or learning to play an instrument would be better worth my time.

10. Attend a sporting event

I'm passionate about sports so I'd have a pretty easy time enjoying the game.

11. Go to work

As a student who is currently doing a summer internship, I enjoy the work I do, and I want to gain more experience and skills to make myself more appealing to future employers, especially the company I currently work for.

12. Talk to my best girl friend or best guy friend

My best friends make it feel easy for me to open up to them and promote a judgment-free zone, one in which I am absolutely comfortable.

13. Spend time with my significant other

I don't have a significant other right now, but I'd want to talk to her about how her day is, and listen to her about anything she's talking about the best I can. Any time spent with her would be more worthwhile than playing "Fortnite."

14. Volunteer

I'd get to do community service.

15. Vacation

Assuming I have the time to take one, I'd rather do that and enjoy myself where I can explore and learn about things I didn't know about.

16. Learn to dance

Someday I intend to get married, and I'll have to prepare multiple dances for that special day, and it's a graceful art.

17. Go on a road trip

Going on a road trip is one of the most relaxing things to do and you can listen to music while you drive, and have a blast.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
