All Lives "Matter"

Do they really?

All Lives "Matter"
Think Pynk

All lives matter. It's so true, yet a big lie. Yes, all lives do matter. ALL! However, you left a group out. How can you say every life matters when every life isn't accounted for? Are you so blinded by the white privilege you have that you ignore the possibility of seeing clearly? All lives CANNOT matter until society treats black lives as they do! How many times does it have to be said, typed, shouted from black lives in torment, written on walls, held up on signs, and protested in order for everyone to understand that black lives matter!

The Black Lives Matter movement did not portray in anyway that only black lives matter. No, my friends of the filthy social media. YOU did that. Just when people were finally standing up and fighting back for black lives, you felt threatened and left out. So you made sure that black lives weren't the only focus on the world wide fucking web. Oh no, you had to include that all lives matter, blue Lives matter, gay lives matter, transgender lives matter, animal lives matter, and the list goes on. No one said any of these lives don't matter. We, and by we I mean the people aware and mindful of the current social and oppressing issues, know they matter. We fight for those lives too. But the reality is, they already have millions of people fighting for them. Black lives don't.

The black lives matter movement is simply saying right now, this year, month, week, and day, we need to educate the American people of the oppressing and broken system we call the United States Government, U.S. Supreme Courts, the U.S. Justice System and Law Enforcement and society on how they treat Black Americans in 2016. This year alone, police killed at least 136 black people, according to a project by The Guardian that tracks police killings in America. The latest are Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. This movement allows people all over America to come together and fight injustice for black people. It raises attention to the issues that have been held in the dark for far too long. It brings the real issues in America to surface that people don't like to face because it causes a discomfort. Issues that keep oppressing and dehumanizing black people all over the "United" States. These issues aren't made up for some false racial propaganda. Right now, many people of all races are siding with the Black Lives Matter movement to make a change and a difference in America. It's not a one-sided, politically correct movement. It's a movement for the right reasons. Not popularity, or to promote that one race is more important than others. No, it's to show that black lives are just as important as any other race. Sadly, most of the people that say all lives matter are white, conservative Americans who believe this movement is a selfish act to make black lives seem more important than others. Today, they are.

"#BlackLivesMatter is intended to build connections between Black people and our allies to fight anti-Black racism, to spark dialogue among Black people, and to facilitate the types of connections necessary to encourage social action and engagement", according to the Black Lives Matter Organization. From the organization itself.

Still not getting it?

Take a moment and imagine if your people were being killed off one by one by lawless and evil people who are "doing their job." Imagine it being your son or daughter, mother or father, brother or sister, friend, cousin, or just someone you know and love dearest. Imagine them being killed for no reason other than being scared because of the color of their skin. Imagine it being your community. Wouldn't you be angry? Wouldn't you want to change the way things are? Would it open your eyes to see the reality of what is happening in this God forsaken country? I'm talking to you, white people. Will you then be able to see past your white privilege and see that this country is wrong for what they are doing? News flash, black people have this realization everyday. They live through it day by day. They feel every ounce of pain being afflicted on their community. You don't have to feel this. That's part of your privilege. Because of this pain, and hatred towards them by a system created for white people, they are forced to fight for their lives, for survival. Imagine you doing it. Everything you've been handed has masked you to keep you distracted from what is real. This hate, the deaths, the violence towards human beings, is real. Take your mask off and see. Look at the destruction being done. Let reality hit you in the face. It's a painful slap, but one that will free your mind and spread love the right way.

The fact is, all lives do matter, in a sense that life matters period. How about you stand by this all lives matter act, and start treating everyone like they matter. Until then, we will keep focusing on black lives and we will keep fighting for a change. I'm going to continue doing what I can to help my loved ones. I'm going to be fighting for all human equality.

Here's another news flash white people, we've created this fear of black people. What was this fear created from? The fear of losing your metaphorical power or whiteness. Did you know that most white Americans only look at the stats of black Americans when criminal records are pulled up on Fox News? Well, it's true. The media has put a huge target on the backs of those who are of black or brown skin. That's all society sees. The media has society wrapped around there finger.

On a positive note, it is good to see people fighting for what they believe in. It's nice to see everyone uniting to make a change and help fellow American citizens. The more people come together to peacefully protest, the bigger the difference is. Thank you to those who are fighting. To those who are shy, you will find a moment to stand your ground.

Peace, Love, Not War!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
