Do That Thing You've Been Too Afraid To Do

All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you, something great will come of it.

So it's the start of the new year. Everyone is making new year's resolutions and trying to decide how the year is gonna go. But how do we decide this?

Is your new year's resolution to go on more adventures? Or is it to get that internship you've been dreaming of? How about talking to someone new?

Well, what's stopping you? If you want something you have to work for it. I know sometimes things seem really scary because you don't know what's going to happen, but how will you know if you don't try?

We all have things we've always wanted to do. Why don't we just go do them? What's the worst that can happen? Do we get told no? If that happens, at least we know and we can learn from that.

But how do we know if we never try? You might not get that internship, but the experience can teach you so much. That summer job you've been debating about applying for? Go for it!

We spend so much time thinking about doing things without actually taking any initiative. We tend to only think about what could go wrong if we take a chance. What if we started thinking about what could go right? The thing we've been most scared of doing could turn out to be the best decision we've ever made!

There's something about taking that chance that can seem completely terrifying, but also is the most exciting! So go on that trip you've been wanting to take for so long. Save the money up and do it.

Apply for that internship or the new job. Live the life you want to without the fear of what could go wrong. Take the inspiration from the movie, We Bought A Zoo: "You only need 20 seconds of insane courage and I promise you something great will come of it."

So take that 20 seconds to do what you're afraid of. You never know when something great will come from it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
