College is so overrated. Who even wants to go to college? All you do is study every single day and go to classes that you care nothing about. Doesn't staying home, watching TV all day and not studying just sound so much better? I don’t understand why everyone wants to go to college and graduate. Why are people so obsessed with a school? I can list so many reasons why college "sucks" and here it is:
You get a college degree
There’s a small percentage of humans in this society that succeeded without a college degree, but there is also a way bigger percentage of humans in this society that do end up succeeding with a college degree. A college degree doesn’t guarantee that you will have a job once you graduate but the chances are pretty high when you have a degree. When comparing a potential employee with a high school diploma to a potential employee with a college degree, chances are, the one with the college degree will get hired.
You make friends
You can actually go out and make real friends other than meeting people on Tinder in your bedroom. College is a huge place with tons of people with different personalities. There is no doubt that you will find a group of friends that is going to fit perfectly with you. And who knows, maybe you will even find your future husband or wife in college.
You can go out on the weekends
No parents equal no curfew. You can study hard on the weekdays and reward yourself by going out with your friends on the weekends. What is not to love about that? You can even stay out until 6 a.m. with no one there to stop you. Another plus is having your best friends close to you 24/7 makes going out a heck of a lot easier.
Get you out of your comfort zone
College is a great place to step out of your comfort zone. It forces you to do things that you wouldn’t normally do and makes you talk to people that you normally wouldn’t talk to. If you are home and always staying in your comfort zone, it’s hard to be open minded about the things and people around you. Basically, college makes you a bigger and better person.
Home away from home
College is like a second home with more freedom. College sometimes feels like a vacation: you come here to have fun, be with your friends, and study, of course (hi Mom). When you are upset or don't like your first home, you can always count on going back to your second home for a good time.
Experience and opportunity
College gives you so much experience right in front of you. College connects companies and businesses to you and helps you succeed step by step. Without meeting connections and connecting with the outside world, a job is way harder to land. You experience working with different kinds of people which will prepare you in the future as well.
