Do Blondes Really Have More Fun?

The blonde versus brunette battle.

Do blondes really have more fun?

My girl friends and I have recently been having multiple conversations with our guy friends about what physical characteristics they are attracted to in girls. Very often they have given the very simple response: blondes. With the majority of girls in the group being brunette, we have started to wonder what it is that made all of these boys in our friend group more attracted to girls with blond hair than those with brown.

Researching the topic, I came across sayings like “Blondes have more fun,” or “Blondes do it better.” Reading various articles, I started to question my brunette status. Do blondes really have more fun? Are they more confident or beautiful? As these questions piled up I started to realize just how crazy I was to have wasted my time thinking about them. Fun and beauty have nothing to do with the color of your hair.

I believe society needs to break this stigma and the notion that blondes have more fun. The color of a person’s hair should not determine their confidence level or determine their beauty. Women constantly dye their hair and alter various aspects of their appearance. There is nothing wrong with doing so if it is done by their own accord, rather than in an attempt to fit someone else’s idea of what beauty is. Yes, blonde is beautiful, but so is any other color of the rainbow. Hair color does not and should not determine beauty

Whether or not a person has “more fun” is completely unrelated to the color of their hair. I think fun is affected by outlooks on life, making the most of experiences, and learning to laugh at the awkward moments. If changing your hair color will give you that needed boost of confidence go for it! But remember to change for yourself, no one else. Changing for yourself is good change, and will make you a better, more confident person.

These are some celebrities society has found beautiful no matter their hair color:

Jessica Alba

Scarlett Johansson

Beyoncé

Emma Stone

Miranda Kerr

No matter the hair color, celebrities still appear to maintain their confidence and beauty to the public. Whether blond, brunette or redhead, they are beautiful because of confidence not the color of their hair. Confidence is the key to having "more fun" or "doing it better."

If our opinion of these celebrities’ beauty does not change along with their hair color, we should hold that same standard for everyone that we meet, they are beautiful despite hair color. We cannot uphold one standard of beauty, if everyone were blonde we would live in a very monochrome world.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
